What is a Swedish massage?


It is the most common and known system of massage a full body massage. Named after Per Henrik Ling a Swedish a physiologist and fencing master who developed this system of movements which he found helpful to improving his health and maintaining his physical condition. Classical massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage and aromatherapy massage still based on the techniques he used; effleurage, petrissage and percussion.

If you haven't had a massage before, Swedish massage is a great massage to experience. On itself will target relaxation of the entire body but swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation as is very beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility, releasing muscle tightness, break down toxins and tension.

A Swedish massage can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist's massage style and what the client wants to achieve.
